The Bellefonte YMCA is currently accepting applications for part-time Lifeguards to help maintain a safe and positive environment in our indoor pools.

We’re looking for dependable staff to fill the following shifts:

• Monday & Wednesday 2:45 PM – 7:45 PM
• Tuesday & Thursday 3:45 PM – 7:30 PM
• Friday 3:45 PM – 6:30 PM

Responsibilities

• Maintain constant vigilance of the pool area and respond proactively to swimmers in distress.
• Enforce pool rules and communicate effectively with youth and adults.
• Stay calm and provide clear direction in emergency situations.
• Keep the pool and deck area safe and free of hazards.
• Assist with pool cleaning duties, including vacuuming and other assigned tasks.
• Maintain physical readiness to perform all American Red Cross lifeguard rescue skills.

Qualifications

• Some high school education required.
• Current Lifeguard Certification (or ability to obtain certification).

Compensation & Benefits

• $13.00 per hour
• Option to contribute to a 403(b) retirement plan
• Certification reimbursement if completed at the Y for employment purposes
