The Bellefonte YMCA is currently accepting applications for part-time Lifeguards to help maintain a safe and positive environment in our indoor pools.
We’re looking for dependable staff to fill the following shifts:
- Monday & Wednesday 2:45 PM – 7:45 PM
- Tuesday & Thursday 3:45 PM – 7:30 PM
- Friday 3:45 PM – 6:30 PM
Responsibilities
- Maintain constant vigilance of the pool area and respond proactively to swimmers in distress.
- Enforce pool rules and communicate effectively with youth and adults.
- Stay calm and provide clear direction in emergency situations.
- Keep the pool and deck area safe and free of hazards.
- Assist with pool cleaning duties, including vacuuming and other assigned tasks.
- Maintain physical readiness to perform all American Red Cross lifeguard rescue skills.
Qualifications
- Some high school education required.
- Current Lifeguard Certification (or ability to obtain certification).
Compensation & Benefits
- $13.00 per hour
- Option to contribute to a 403(b) retirement plan
- Certification reimbursement if completed at the Y for employment purposes
