Fitness Center Staff

The State College YMCA has immediate openings for part-time Fitness Center Staff. We are seeking dependable individuals who are available to work weekends and can demonstrate flexibility with hours and scheduling based on the needs of the facility and its members.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide instruction on the safe and effective use of fitness equipment while maintaining high safety standards.
• Identify unsafe exercise techniques, correct participants, and suggest appropriate alternatives.
• Assist with the upkeep and maintenance of the fitness facility and equipment.
• Keep the Wellness Director informed of any incidents or issues that occur within the fitness center.
• Enthusiastically greet members, convey a positive attitude, and build strong relationships with participants.

Qualifications

• Education in a health and wellness field or a personal training certification is required.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to motivate and encourage a diverse population.
• Weekend availability is required.
• Ability to maintain a flexible schedule and adapt to changing staffing needs.
