Fitness Center Staff

Our State College YMCA has immediate openings for part-time Fitness Center Staff to fill a variety of shifts throughout the week. Available shifts include Saturdays from 1:00 PM – 6:15 PM, Mondays from 4:00 PM – 9:15 PM, and Fridays from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide instructions for how to use fitness equipment while maintaining high safety standards.
• Identify unsafe techniques, correct participants, and suggest alternative exercises.
• Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the fitness facility and the equipment within it.
• Keep the Wellness Director informed of any incidents or problems that may have occurred within the fitness center.
• Enthusiastically greet members and convey a positive attitude. Develop relationships with members.

Qualifications

• Education in a health and wellness field OR a personal training certification is required.
• Strong communication skills along with the ability to motivate and encourage a diverse population.

Salary/Benefits

• $12.00 per hour for fitness center staff; $18 per hour when personal training

• • Sunday 8:45am-12:30pm
  • Saturday 1-6:15pm
  • Thursday 5:15am-10am
  • Monday 10am-2pm
