The Bellefonte YMCA is currently accepting applications for a part-time Head Swim Team Coach to be responsible for coaching the swim team to meet goals and objectives of the YMCA’s competitive swimming program starting as soon as possible.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Plan and organize the swim team program. Direct team practices as scheduled and ensure the safety of participants at all times.
  • Manage and supervise assistant coaches to meet program and safety objectives.
  • Maintain proper team records and file reports as needed.
  • Attend all team meets and coordinate entry information to meet deadlines.
  • Handle parent concerns through individual contact by appointment, email, or phone.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of aquatic experience as a competitive swimmer or aquatic instructor.
  • 1 year of competitive coaching preferred.
  • Working knowledge of competitive aquatics.
  • Current valid drivers license and access to a personal vehicle.
  • YMCA of USA Principles of Competitive Swimming and Diving and American Red Cross or YMCA of the USA Lifeguarding certification (including CPR, first aid, and emergency oxygen) required for coaching deck pass for any district and national swim meets.
