Position Details
- Location: Moshannon Valley YMCA
- Schedule: Monday – Friday, 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
- Status: Part-time
Staff will be responsible for the safety and well-being of children enrolled in our programs while providing an environment rich in activities and experiences to promote their development.
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain knowledge and understanding of PA Department of Human Services (DHS) regulations.
- Supervise children and remain physically present with your group at all times.
- Engage children in activities that reflect their interests, talents, and learning styles.
- Assist in developing and implementing age-appropriate curriculum.
- Interact with children in a positive and enthusiastic manner.
- Communicate daily with parents as needed.
- Use positive guidance and discipline strategies, including redirection and positive reinforcement.
- Complete required administrative tasks (attendance, reports, meal counts, etc.).
Qualifications
Applicants should meet one of the following criteria:
- High school diploma and 30 college credits in education or human services.
- High school diploma and 600+ hours of secondary training.
- High school diploma, 15 college credits in education or human services, and 1 year of experience working with children.
- High school diploma and 2 years of experience working with children.
Salary & Benefits
- Pay: $14.00 – $15.50 per hour (based on education and experience)
